Safeguarding
At Landywood, the welfare of our children is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children entrusted to our care at all times.
The child’s welfare is paramount. Our school strives to establish and maintain an ethos in which pupils feel safe, secure and valued. We encourage children to talk openly, knowing they will be listened to and supported. All children are able to speak freely to any member of staff if they have a worry or concern.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All adults who come into contact with children and their families have a vital role to play in protecting children from harm. We recognise that school staff are particularly well placed to identify concerns at an early stage and to provide appropriate support to prevent issues from escalating. Staff are encouraged to maintain a culture of professional curiosity and respectful uncertainty when working with children and families.
Through our curriculum, we provide a range of activities and learning opportunities that help children develop the skills they need to recognise risks, stay safe and make informed choices. This includes supporting children to develop essential life skills within a broad and balanced curriculum.
Please refer to our Safeguarding Policy here for further information.
