Welcome to Nursery!

We would like to reassure you that you that when your child comes to Nursery they will be well cared for and nurtured.

In Nursery our learning is based through play activities and we have lots of fun. We are great believers in promoting independence which prepares us for our journey starting in Reception.

Our P.E. day is Wednesday morning and we currently come to Nursery in our P.E. kit.

Tuesday & Friday morning we visit the Forest, for this we wear our own warm suitable clothing and wellies. These need to stay in school please. We have waterproof suits and trousers which we wear for the wet and muddy weather. We do like to get muddy!

At Landywood Primary School, we value the important role families play in supporting children’s learning. Each half term, we share a curriculum newsletter so you can see what your child will be learning through our Creative Curriculum. In Early Years, children learn best through play, talk and everyday experiences. Reading and sharing stories together, talking about what you have been doing, playing simple word and number games, visiting the library, cooking together and spotting numbers or letters when you are out and about all help to support your child’s development. Spending a short time each day learning together can have a big impact on your child’s confidence, communication and love of learning. If you have any questions or would like further ideas on how to support your child at home, please speak to their class teacher.
