Well what can I say?
Life over the last year has certainly put us all through our paces.
Offering our wonderful children and their families support has been very different recently6with lots of catch up phone calls, chats on the door step when needed or meetings in the playground.
During the time children have been in school. I have been providing socially distanced support for those that needed a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on.
This was probably the hardest thing for me to adjust to. But with the help of ‘H the hippo’ even that was possible to work around.
The ‘Family Support Service’ continue to provide a valued service for us to refer to. Including the really successful ‘Behaviour & Wellbeing Programs’ run online by Raminder Dhaliwal, which have been very helpful for also supporting our parents.
I have also had some wonderful help for our families from ‘Action for Children’ and hope this will continue in the future.
The ‘Child Behaviour Coach’ training that I have completed has been invaluable. It is amazing how just changing the way you word something to a child can have such an effect.
It is very sad the amount of families in our community that have suffered the loss of a loved one over the last year. I've been privileged to help these families by lending our book bags and being available to offer support and friendly chat whenever needed. We have all experienced an unprecedented 12 months many of our families have suffered loss, be it of a loved one, a job, a business, a relationship, a home or financially.
I am so very proud to be able to offer my help and support now more than ever.
