Daily Mile

We have  introduced a new element to our curriculum, "Daily Mile".

The Daily Mile is a fully-inclusive initiative which improves the physical and mental health of children. It’s a social activity where the children walk, jog or run, at their own pace, for 15 minutes every day, improving focus in the classroom. The Department of Health says that children over the age of five should be engaging in at least an hour of moderate to vigorous exercise every day – yet only a fifth of children nationally aged between 5 and 15 achieve this. Our Daily Mile programme will help to ensure Landywood pupils achieve this national target.
